Massage Therapy for Athletes Series
This Series provides information and experiences that will help prepare students to work effectively with athletes in pre- and post-event settings, as well as in the clinic. In this 21-hour hands-on program students will learn techniques to address a variety of issues common among athletes, enhance athletic performance, and support athletes’ longevity of enjoyment in their activities.
Each day is individually available and provides 7 Hands-on CE Hours.

Single Day: 150.00 per day
2-3 days: 140.00 per day
Pre- and Post-event Massage, May 20, 2021, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Learn short treatments of 10 – 15 minutes in duration, done at the event site within 3 hours before the event (Pre Event Massage) or within 4 hours after the event (Post Event Massage) Treatments are general and non- specific. Pre Event treatments are to “pump-up” the athlete; Post Event treatments are slow in tempo and are to calm, relax and sooth the athlete.
Active Isolated Stretching, May 27, 2021, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Active Isolated Stretching – Mattes Method (AIS) is a renowned and effective set of skills you may incorporate into any massage to help enhance clients’ range of motion, strength, and flexibility. From couch potatoes to athletes, your clients will love this work!
Lumbar-Pelvis Core Distortion, June 3, 2021, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Ralph Stephens has been using massage to help clients ranging from Olympic athletes to everyday amateurs recover from their injuries since 1986. He travels extensively across the US and abroad, teaching advanced therapeutic massage techniques that provide a pain-free experience for both clients and therapists. A Massage Therapy Hall of Fame inductee, Stephens’ goal is to train more therapists in highly effective techniques, “so together we can help more people live healthier, happier, pain-free lives.”
